Tables from other sites in the same database
Why WP Foreman asks before backing up tables that don’t use your site’s prefix.
Updated Oct 3, 2026
Some hosts let several sites or apps share one database. Each WordPress site marks its tables with a prefix, like wp_ or eosl_. Tables with a different prefix usually belong to something else.
Backing those up would copy another site’s data, possibly another client’s, into this site’s backup. So WP Foreman leaves them out until you decide.
If a backup finds tables like that, the Backups page asks:
- Yes, include them: they’re backed up from the next backup on.
- No, leave them out: the question goes away and they stay out.
You can change your mind under Settings › Include / exclude content with Include tables that don’t use this site’s prefix.
Tables like old_wp_options are often left over from a migration and safe to leave out.
