Manage a website’s users
See, add, edit, change roles, send password resets and delete WordPress users from WP Foreman.
Updated Oct 9, 2026
Every website has a Users section in its menu. It shows the website’s WordPress users live (username, email, role and how many posts each has published), so you can look after them without signing in to wp-admin.
What you can do
- Search and filter by name, username or email, and by role.
- Add a user: username, email, name and role. By default WordPress emails them a link to set their own password; untick that to set a password yourself (12 characters or more).
- Edit a user’s email, name, display name or role, or set a new password.
- Send a password reset (the key icon): WordPress emails them its usual “reset your password” link.
- Delete a user. If they wrote anything, choose who gets their posts, pages and other content, or delete it with them.
Safety
- WP Foreman won’t delete or demote the website’s only administrator, so you can’t lock yourself out.
- Every change is listed in the site’s Activity log under Users, with who made it. Passwords are never stored or logged.
- User changes stay internal: they don’t appear in client reports.
Needs WP Foreman plugin 0.7.7 or newer on the website.
